We care, we trust, we believe. We share, we enjoy, we achieve.

Latest News

This is my first attempt at trying out the newsletter function on our website- please bear with me if it is not perfect - we will get there.

As you know we are trying really hard to use the website and app more. We also use the school life platform now for all forms and club bookings. We are also moving over to send messages these way( although we are still using parent mail while we transition over)

PHOTOGRAPHS

On Wednesday ( 18th October) the photographer will be in school to take photos of individuals and sibling groups.

Before we start taking photos of the school age children, the photographer will be available to take photos of children with any younger siblings who do not attend our school. This session will start at 8.30 ( when we open the main gates).  You will be asked to take a ticket when you arrive so we can take the photos in order. We cannot accommodate any pushchairs inside school- they will have to be left outside. When you are in the school hall - please ensure all children sit with you and do not run around the hall. We do ask that once you are finished you leave the school promptly- any school age children will then go down to class.

Any children who attend our school or nursery will have their photos taken on their own and with any brothers and sisters during the school day. Any children who have PE on Wednesday ( year 6 and Year 3) we suggest for this week only they wear their school uniform for the photos and either bring a change of clothes for PE or do PE in their uniform.

HARVEST

HARVEST “ GIVING THANKS” CELEBRATION

This year our Harvest celebration will take place on Thursday 19th October.

Our current collective worship theme is “Thankfulness”

Our theme for harvest is “Being thankful and sharing what we have”

This year we will again collect - food and toiletries for the local food bank.  We have already had some generous donations but would like to collect loads more. There will be a trolley or basket on each gate—every day– to collect all of your generous donations. You could donate things such as: tinned food, jars, UHT milk, cereal, shampoo etc.

In addition to collecting food we are also asking all children ( and staff) to come to school wearing Autumn colours (on Thursday) and to bring in a donation which we will send to Oxfam to help with their campaigns.

COATS

The weather is most definitely changing. Please can you ensure that all children bring a coat to school everyday. If they do not have a coat they won't be able to go outside.

SNACKS AND DINNER

Years 3-6 are allowed to bring a snack in from home for morning break. This should be one small and healthy snack. We do not allow chocolate and crisps. Breaktime is not very long and also is not that long away from dinner time so having large, filling snacks is not possible as there is not time and also it stops children eating their dinner.

Please remember if you want your child to have a hot dinner - you need to pre-order it on the evolve dinner booking system. If you do not book children are given a default meal of cheese sandwich and fruit. When ordering please chat to your child about the meal choice. A lot of children are leaving large parts of their meal and may be hungry.

Also can I remind you for snack and for packed lunches grapes and cherry tomatoes must be cut length ways to avoid choking. We cannot let children eat then uncut.

Finally, can I remind you that water bottles should only contain water, flavoured still water or sugar free squash.

UNIFORM

Please refer to the uniform policy which is on the school website. It can be found in Key Information- policies.

Most children are wearing the correct school uniform- thank you for that.

Please ensure your child does wear the correct uniform everyday. Most importantly please ensure they only wear one pair of stud earrings and a watch ( if they wish to ) we do not allow any other jewellery and ask that all jewellery is removed on PE days or days they attend sports clubs.

ATTENDANCE

As we said at the start of the school year we are having a push on high expectations. One area this covers is attendance. Out current attendance policy is on our school website. It can be found in key information- policies.

I will shortly be putting our a shorter, more simplified version for you to make it easier.

For now can we please remind everyone of the following things:

*Children need to arrive at school on time and stay until the end of the school day every day they are well enough to do so.

*Every day a child is off school you need to call the school office first thing in the morning. If you do not call us the absence might be marked as unauthorised. If we cannot get hold of you a company called Instill will knock your door to check on you and your child/ children. They may also knock even if we have heard off you if the absence has been 3 days or more.

* We cannot authorise any holiday in term time and fines will be issued.

FORMS

We need to ensure all forms are returned before the October half term.

Please fill them in or come to speak to the office if you need any help
